Dear St. Louis,

As an organization committed to building political power for Black and marginalized communities in St. Louis, Action St. Louis Power Project does not make endorsements lightly. We know that leadership matters, and we believe that elections are opportunities to set the conditions that help us organize toward a vision of justice, equity, and real change for our city.

That is why we are endorsing Tishaura Jones for re-election as Mayor of St. Louis.

We want to be clear: our endorsement is not a blanket approval of every decision made by this administration. Over the past four years, there have been real frustrations, missteps, and moments where the community has demanded better. We have been part of those calls for accountability, and we will continue to push for bold, people-centered policies that prioritize safety, housing, economic justice, and the well-being of our most impacted neighbors.

As organizers, our commitment is to always tell the truth. We recognize that elections are about choices. And in this election, the choice is stark. Cara Spencer represents a return to policies that do not align with our values—policies that have historically neglected Black communities, prioritized criminalization over care, and upheld a status quo that does not serve us. We deserve better. 

Mayor Tishaura Jones has been a leader in advancing progressive policies, including investments in violence prevention, tenant protections, reproductive justice, and direct support for working families. Her administration has worked to reimagine public safety, address health disparities, and shift resources toward community-centered solutions. While there is still work to be done and important corrections to be made, we believe that her leadership presents the best opportunity to continue pushing St. Louis toward a future where all our neighborhoods thrive.

Elections are not the end of our fight; they are one tool in our broader movement for change. Regardless of who is in office, we will always organize, advocate, and hold leadership accountable. But today, we are clear: re-electing Tishaura Jones is the best path forward for St. Louis. 

We invite you to join us in this effort. Our community’s interests are worth fighting for. Knock doors, make calls, talk to your neighbors, and most importantly, vote. Together, we can continue to build a St. Louis that works for all of us.
